Job Summary:Ā 

The Fire Sprinkler TechnicianĀ is responsible forĀ the installation, testing, inspection, service, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. Respond to emergency and maintenance calls and troubleshoot/replace faulty components to restore fire sprinkler systems to ā€œnormal conditionā€.Ā Complete inspection and service reports.Ā

Essential Job Functions:Ā 

  • TravelĀ toĀ customerĀ locationsĀ toĀ performĀ installation,Ā service,Ā andĀ upgradesĀ ofĀ fireĀ sprinklerĀ systems.
  • RespondĀ toĀ emergencyĀ situationsĀ duringĀ andĀ afterĀ businessĀ hoursĀ toĀ resolveĀ safetyĀ concerns.
  • PerformĀ Annual,Ā Semi-annual,Ā andĀ QuarterlyĀ inspectionsĀ ofĀ LifeĀ SafetyĀ Systems.
  • Write and provide inspection/service reports on tested equipment and devices.Ā Indicate any deficiencies or corrections that need toĀ beĀ made.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnoseĀ faultsĀ or malfunctionsĀ on fireĀ sprinkler systemsĀ and takeĀ appropriateĀ actions.
  • PerformĀ systemĀ upgrades,Ā modifications,Ā andĀ expansionsĀ asĀ necessary.
  • CollaborateĀ withĀ customers,Ā contractors,Ā and other teamĀ membersĀ toĀ ensure efficient and effective installation, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
  • MaintainĀ accurateĀ records of workĀ performed, including service reports, inspection reports, andĀ equipment inventory.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customersĀ regardingĀ fireĀ sprinkler systems, including system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes,Ā regulations,Ā and technological advancements related to fire sprinkler systems.
  • AdhereĀ toĀ safetyĀ guidelinesĀ andĀ practices,Ā bothĀ forĀ personalĀ safetyĀ andĀ theĀ safetyĀ ofĀ others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:Ā 

  • High School Diploma orĀ GEDĀ required.Ā AdditionalĀ technical certifications or training in fireĀ sprinkler systems is strongly preferred.
  • ProvenĀ experienceĀ workingĀ asĀ aĀ FireĀ SprinklerĀ TechnicianĀ is preferred.
  • Willing to support training/development for entry-level candidates. Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Solid Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, andĀ repair is preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevantĀ codes,Ā regulations,Ā andĀ standards,Ā suchĀ as NFPA 13, 25, 14, 20 and local fireĀ codes is preferred.
  • ProficiencyĀ inĀ readingĀ andĀ interpretingĀ blueprints,Ā andĀ technicalĀ manuals is preferred.
  • StrongĀ problem-solvingĀ skillsĀ andĀ theĀ abilityĀ toĀ diagnoseĀ andĀ resolveĀ issuesĀ efficiently.
  • ExcellentĀ attentionĀ toĀ detailĀ andĀ organizationalĀ skills.
  • Strong communicationĀ and interpersonal skills toĀ effectively interact with customers and teamĀ members.
  • AbilityĀ toĀ workĀ independentlyĀ andĀ prioritizeĀ tasksĀ effectively.
  • BackflowĀ PreventerĀ License – preferred.
  • Maintain a valid driver's licenseĀ and abilityĀ toĀ pass a drug and background check.

Physical Requirements:Ā 

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk,Ā hearĀ and have full use of hands. The employeeĀ is occasionally required toĀ sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee mustĀ frequentlyĀ lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Ability to work from a ladder, and in some case, a man-lift.
  • Must be able toĀ operateĀ a motor vehicle and travel daily.
