About the CNC Machinist Position

Job Description: 

Reporting to the Shop Manager, MMA is seeking a qualified, self-motivated, dependable prototype machinist who can work independently with little supervision. Candidate will prioritize making highly aesthetic and dimensionally accurate parts from start to finish.  

Job Duties:

  •  A minimum of 8 – 10-year machining experience.
  •  This position is an 8-hour-a-day part making position, Overtime available.
  •  Independently set-up 3+1 and 5 axis HAAS CNC milling machines.
  •  Ability to strategize cradle-to-grave part-making.
  •  Understanding of material properties as well as calculations for appropriate speeds & feeds.
  •  Read and interpret engineering drawings with ability to interpret GD+T.
  •  Will be responsible for the inspection of machined parts - visually and dimensionally.
  •  CAM experience is a must! GibbsCam preferred.
  •  Basic computer skills such as excel, email and navigating windows.
  •  Own personal hand tools – calipers, micrometers, etc.
  •  Strong mechanical aptitude.
  •  Ability to multi-task and ensure scheduled work is completed on time.
  •  Provide constructive feedback regarding manufacturability back to design engineers.
  •  Regular cleaning and maintenance on equipment. 
  •  Keep a clean well organized working area.

Job Requirements:

  •  High attention to detail and pride in producing quality parts.
  •  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, several times per day.
  •  Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, squat; in addition to use arms, hands, and fingers to inspect objects, tools, and controls with dexterity.
  •  Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with all levels of the organization.
