We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer in our Broomfield, CO location. This role will support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for our ion trap quantum computers. The successful candidate will assist in mechanical design and documentation of our system hardware, identifying and establishing partnerships with contract manufacturers, contributing to the scalability of our production operations.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Apply mechanical design tools, such On Shape and Ansys, to support development of prototype and production hardware.
  • Create released documentation using GD&T drafting standards.
  • Help prepare and update manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures. 
  • Assist in the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing processes, ensuring high precision and quality in production. 
  • Support quality control efforts to maintain adherence to technical specifications and industry standards. 
  • Contribute to identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality. 
  • Work with R&D, product design, and supply chain teams to integrate new products into manufacturing processes. 


YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum 
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.


WE VALUE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing principles, including Lean Manufacturing and statistical process control. 
  • Experience with CAD software and engineering tools, preferably Onshape
  • Experience with GD&T drafting standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. 
  • Design for Test, Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturability experience 
  • Experience in system engineering, physics, lasers & optics, electrical engineering, or closely allied fields  
  • Experience with product lifecycle management software or enterprise resource planning software  
  • Individuals who are results-oriented and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done despite competing priorities  
  • Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written

The pay range for this role is $73,000 – $92,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
