A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Sr Prin Mech Engineer at V&IPS, you will partner with Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Customers, and Tech OPs to lead the development of Isolation valve quick turn capabilities in Broomfield. In this role, you will report to the Sr Mgr. Product Development.

You Will Make an Impact By:

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the development of Isolation Valve Quick Turn capabilities.
  • Own technical decisions, design direction, and execution.
  • Drive new product development from concept through release.

Semiconductor & Vacuum Expertise

Strong understanding of:

  • Semiconductor manufacturing equipment
  • Vacuum systems and components
  • Isolation valves and related fluid/vacuum control technologies

Ability to translate customer requirements into manufacturable solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

You would work closely with:

  • Product Marketing
  • Sales
  • Customers
  • Engineering teams
  • Technical Operations / Manufacturing

This role is not purely design engineering. It requires balancing customer needs, business priorities, and engineering execution.

Mentorship & Global Influence

  • Mentor engineers in both Broomfield and India
  • Establish engineering best practices
  • Provide technical guidance and reviews

Business & Operational Support

  • Support the quoting process for quick-turn opportunities
  • Work within PLM and ERP systems
  • Help improve responsiveness, cost, and manufacturability


Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and 12 years of related experience.
  • Semiconductor equipment industry experience
  • Vacuum technology expertise
  • New Product Development leadership
  • CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Inventor)
  • PLM/ERP experience (Agile, Oracle)
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

Overall, this is a technical leadership role that combines advanced mechanical engineering, semiconductor/vacuum expertise, product development leadership, customer interaction, and mentorship responsibilities. It is less about individual design work and more about driving products, people, and business outcomes.
