POSITION SUMMARY
Ensures the smooth running of the department when working a scheduled supervisor shift, and when appointed by the department manager. Reduces/eliminates guest complaints when on shift. The Bar supervisor will coordinates duties to employees who engage in selling alcoholic beverages for consumption in Glacier Peaks Casino by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees reporting to him/her. Supervises five or more employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit when on shift and when appointed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To Support Glacier Peaks Casino mission of providing quality customer service in all areas of dealing with the general public. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Glacier Peaks Casino rules and regulations as well as local and state laws.

· Directs, coaches, supports, supervises and evaluates (in conjunction with the Bar Manager). Ensures that all newly hired employees are thoroughly trained in all aspects of their job and informed of Glacier Peaks Casinos’ policy and procedures, and “Zero Tolerance” on misconduct while on the job.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable
Laws. Responsibilities include familiarizing and training employees; planning, assigning and direction work; disciplining employee; addressing employee/customer complaints and resolving problems.
· Stays aware of customer’s needs and strives to eliminate complaints, while ensuring timely handling and resolving of any and all complaints’ made by customers regarding the bar area and beverage service and assists customers who have complaints that affect other departments in the Casino, and directs them to appropriate manager/supervisor.
· Supervises and is responsible for the adherence to the drink age policy.
· Continuously enforces his/her staff is covering all aspects of service: greeting customers, properly taking their orders, practicing up-selling techniques, utilizing correct glassware and mixology, practicing correct use of the registers, and properly serving requested drinks.
· Responsible for directly supervising the cleanliness and appearance of bar areas. Inspects all bar areas and observes workers and patrons to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards, company policies, and local liquor regulations.
· Keeps tracks of what bar supplies, liquors, wines, or other beverages needed, and relays to Bar Manager. Enforces, open/closing bar hours, and work schedules set forth by Bar Manager.
· Tend bar in conjunction with other scheduled bartender.
· Responsible for coverage in all bar areas during casino business hours. While also ensuring that all bar personal have clean and proper uniforms, and names tags at all times, and that their personal appearance, personal hygiene and uniforms are in accordance with company policy.
· Advises the Human Resource Department of position changes and emergency leave, resignations if one should acquire while on shift.
· Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.
· Responsible for communicating with Bar Manager on all aspect of shift worked, and any problems that may have acquired.
· Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be preformed by the Casino employee who is occupying this position. Casino employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by the General Manager/management.
· Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
Be a team leader as well as a team player, work well with others, and be able to follow directions.
· Ability to analyze and interpret documents such as recipes and manuals.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, tips, proportions, percentages.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Requirements:
This position is responsible for cost containment through the proper use, handling and maintenance of records, reports, supplies and equipment.
