JOB SUMMARY

The Field Staff member is responsible for supporting the construction of custom residential and commercial swimming pools throughout the various stages of the construction process. This position performs hands-on work across multiple areas of pool construction, including excavation, steel, plumbing, equipment installation, concrete preparation, finishing, and general job-site operations.

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor environment. Field Staff must be able to follow construction plans and instructions, work effectively with other members of the construction team and subcontractors, maintain a clean and organized job site, and communicate issues or project needs to the Construction Manager.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with various stages of swimming pool construction from excavation through completion.
  • Read and follow pool construction plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and project details.
  • Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and site preparation as required.
  • Assist with pool layout and preparation for structural construction.
  • Assist with steel installation and preparation for pool structures as directed.
  • Assist with the installation and routing of pool plumbing, including suction, return, water features, and other pool-related lines.
  • Assist with installation and connection of pool equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Assist with installation of pumps, filtration systems, heaters, sanitation equipment, automation systems, and other pool equipment.
  • Assist with equipment pad preparation, equipment arrangement, and system connections.
  • Assist with installation of lighting ductwork, low-voltage ductwork, and other pool-related infrastructure.
  • Assist with pressure testing, inspections, system checks, and commissioning of pool systems.
  • Coordinate work with other construction team members, subcontractors, and trades to prevent conflicts and maintain project progress.
  • Communicate project conditions, material needs, potential issues, and questions to the Construction Manager.
  • Identify discrepancies between field conditions and construction plans and bring them to the appropriate team member's attention before proceeding.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites throughout the construction process.
  • Properly stage, organize, and protect materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used materials and tools in the assigned work vehicle or job site.
  • Prepare materials and tools in advance of scheduled work to support efficient project completion.
  • Proactively ask questions and clarify project details before beginning unfamiliar or unclear work.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving construction or installation issues in the field.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, project requirements, applicable codes, and company construction standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies and job-site safety requirements, including proper procedures for excavation and calling 811 prior to digging.
  • Assist other members of the construction team as needed to maintain project schedules and workflow.
  • Perform other pool construction-related duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in swimming pool construction, construction, or a related skilled trade preferred.
  • General understanding of residential and/or commercial swimming pool construction.
  • Ability to read and follow construction plans, engineering drawings, measurements, and written instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn pool construction systems and equipment.
  • Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to identify problems in the field and communicate them appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to dig, trench, lift, carry, climb, bend, kneel, and perform manual labor as required.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record preferred.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience with custom or high-end residential pool construction.
  • Experience with commercial swimming pool construction.
  • Experience with pool plumbing, equipment installation, steel, excavation, or other pool construction trades.
  • Familiarity with pool equipment and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience reading pool construction plans and engineering drawings.
  • Experience working around excavation equipment and active construction sites.
  • Knowledge of general construction safety practices and OSHA standards.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Field position requiring travel to various residential and commercial pool construction job sites.
  • Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Physically demanding work requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, digging, and climbing.
  • Work is performed around active construction sites, excavation areas, construction equipment, tools, materials, concrete, water, dust, and other job-site conditions.
  • May require occasional schedule adjustments or extended hours based on project needs.
