We are looking to hire a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team who will support our Engineering department.
About the Role:
The MRO Electrical Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems within a manufacturing environment. This position focuses on the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of electrical equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production processes. The engineer will analyze system performance, troubleshoot electrical issues, and implement improvements to enhance operational safety and effectiveness. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to develop preventive maintenance strategies and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this role contributes to sustaining high-quality manufacturing operations by maintaining robust electrical infrastructure.Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Manage all aspects of new capability development projects from beginning to end.
- Set and manage budgets.
- Perform evaluation and development of tooling and test equipment.
- Create documentation for new tooling and test equipment.
- Perform technician training.
- Writing and documentation of out-of-manual repair procedures.
- Development and preparation of repair procedures for DER approval.
- Writing of engineering justification for repair procedures.
- Provide technical shop support to the shops.
- Analyze technical data such as CMMs, AMMs, SBs, CAD drawings, and other related documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or 5+ years of related experience.
- Experience developing tooling and test equipment for MRO/manufacturing applications.
- Experience with electrical system diagnostics and troubleshooting in industrial or MRO settings.
- Proficiency in Visual Basic (e.g., VBA) and Microsoft Access for database development/automation.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access) for documentation, reporting, and analysis.
- Experience with LabVIEW (or similar instrumentation/data acquisition software).
- Experience with Orcad (or related electrical CAD tools).
- Programming exposure to Visual Basic and C (or similar languages).
- Technical writing abilities; capable of authoring clear, concise repair procedures, DER packages, and engineering justifications.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; enthusiastic, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated team player.
- Some knowledge of mechanical systems and electro‑mechanical interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- 3–5 years of experience in an MRO engineering environment.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and condition monitoring tools (e.g., thermography, vibration, ESA).
- Advanced database design and automation using Microsoft Access and Visual Basic (forms, queries, scripting, integrations).
- Training/certification in safety standards relevant to electrical engineering and manufacturing (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910).
- Experience preparing DER approval packages and supporting aviation MRO compliance.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing tolerances, tolerance stack‑up, and impacts on product performance and test outcomes.
- Broader programming experience (LabVIEW, Visual Basic, C) applied to test automation and data analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute maintenance, repair, and overhaul plans for electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using diagnostic tools and software, including LabVIEW and Visual Basic applications.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, system configurations, and repair procedures using Microsoft Office tools.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to identify electrical system improvements and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze data from maintenance activities and system monitoring to recommend enhancements that reduce downtime and improve reliability.
Skills:
- Software & tools: LabVIEW; Visual Basic/VBA; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Excel & Word; Orcad (or equivalent CAD such as Altium/KiCad); CMMS; instrumentation (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, DAQ).
- Engineering competencies: Electrical diagnostics; test automation; data acquisition; root cause analysis; technical data interpretation (CMM, AMM, SB); documentation control; configuration management.
- Data & quality: Database design; reporting & dashboards; SPC/basic statistics; reliability metrics (MTBF/MTTR); condition monitoring methods.
- Professional: Technical writing; cross‑functional collaboration; project management (scope/schedule/budget); continuous improvement mindset; attention to detail; clear communication; shop‑floor support.Â
