JOB OVERVIEW:Â
Mechanic duties include maintaining a variety of equipment within the facility. Inspect, diagnose, fix, and rebuild as necessary. Implement preventative maintenance practices.Â

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILL / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities of the mobile equipment mechanic include, but not limited to:
- Repair and maintain the following mobile equipment:
- Forklifts, semi-trucks, trailers, crawler cranes, UTV, hydraulic and pneumatic lifting buggies, transfer carts, and aerial lifts.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules and procedures to limit breakdowns on equipment.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, transmission, and electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems in these systems using schematics, drawings, operator inputs
- Determining parts required for repairs and replacement.
- Operate mobile equipment used in the repair, installation or fabrication of equipment including but not limited to lathes, welders, milling machine, drills, grinders, hammers, wrenches, blow torches and other variety of power tools.

WORK CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and in all types of weather conditions
- Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel
- Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
- Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, Metatarsal shoes/boots, ear plugs/ear muffs, safety glasses and hard hats

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively
- Lift tools, machinery parts
- Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling and reaching
- Ability to climb ladders
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the marine, or steel fabrication industry
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision
2nd Shift : 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
