Description

  

BASIC PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Molding Supervisor, performs tasks including the operation of the cope and drag molding machine to produce sand molds in an efficient, safe, and quality manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. The molder acquires the specific process card for the job being performed and follows all written and verbal directions.

2. During the work shift, performs duties, such as, operation of mold producing equipment and machinery, preparation of molds 

for pouring, setting cores, and other related procedures within the molding department.

3. During the mold operation, the mold employee ensures that all quality, production, and delay data is recorded upon the timesheet 

received from supervisor. Timesheet must be turned in accurately upon the end of the shift for the purpose of authorization and 

labor input. 

4. Work area must be kept clean and prepared for the following shift daily.

5. Attend the scrap review meeting each day and participate in the reduction of scrap.

6. Attend employee weekly meeting.

7. Inform supervisor of any operational and/or quality problems.

8. Able to perform all molding tasks to fill in for unattended positions. 

9. Additional duties as may be required. 

Requirements

  

Minimum of completion of the tenth (10) grade, high school. Must possess the ability to follow written and verbal directions. Must have the ability to move freely from one area to another within the department, conform to physical requirements of the job, including ability to lift fifty pounds on a regular basis, stand in one area during shift hours, and operate all equipment in a safe manner. Must be trained in safety requirements, including respiratory protection, PPE requirements and use, and any other safety requirements for employment at Browntown Foundry.
