Maintenance Technician II Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician II repairs and maintains production machinery and equipment, including CNC machines, motors, conveyors, pneumatic tools, and related systems. This role uses manuals, diagrams, precision instruments, hand tools, and power tools to complete safe, accurate repairs and preventive maintenance.

Maintenance Technician II Responsibilities

  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive, prioritize, and complete work orders.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, robotics, and CNC equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment upgrades, and critical repairs.
  • Read and apply schematics, diagrams, blueprints, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Communicate repair status, parts needs, and expected completion timing clearly and professionally.
  • Work with team members and outside vendors to restore equipment to full operation.
  • Travel up to 25% as required.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Maintenance Technician II Skills and Competencies

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Clear communication, flexibility, teamwork, and sound prioritization.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS software, Microsoft Office, hand tools, and specialized maintenance tools.

Maintenance Technician II Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience servicing CNC machinery.
  • Mid- to high-level break-fix and preventive maintenance experience.
  • Experience with advanced PLC, robotics, or CNC repair.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA equipment-safety standards.
  • Valid driving history with a clear record for the past 3 years; preferred experience with HAAS, DOOSAN, or MATSUURA equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Walk, climb, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and twist frequently.
  • Use hands and wrists for repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, and manipulation.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds with team or hoist assistance.
  • Carry up to 50 pounds occasionally over distances of 10 to 60 feet.
  • Push or pull loaded pallet jacks with team or mechanical assistance.

Work Environment

  • Indoor and outdoor manufacturing areas.
  • Loud-noise environments requiring proper hearing protection.
  • Climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled spaces.
  • Possible exposure to heat, cold, wet or humid conditions, equipment fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Required personal protective equipment must be worn.
