Job DetailsJob Location: Stone City Plant - Bryan, TX 77808Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $20.00 - $21.50 HourlyJob Shift: DayJob Summary: Responsible for transporting cabinets and components, loading trailers at the factory, and unloading trailers at the jobsite. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the truck drivers with their duties. This includes: Navigating to job sites. Answering phone calls so that the driver can focus on the road. Being an extra set of eyes on the road as a safety precaution. When at the job site: Get out of the truck and help the driver get into position. Help prevent the driver from hitting anything while backing up or in pre-dawn hours. May need to clean a safe path to garage or create clean area in garage for the cabinets. Drop the ramp and begin transporting cabinets into garage in a manner which would prevent damage. Drivers and helpers should work together, particularly on heavy or large cabinets. The driver is the “captain of the ship” and supervisor in the truck and on the job site. Always wear PPE while clocked in (in the truck and outside of the truck). Different builders require additional PPE (e.g., hard hats, etc.). When you return to the plant clean out the truck and put away the dollies. Keep a safe workplace by housekeeping and keeping an organized work area. This includes inside the cab. Use assistive lifting and transporting devices to prevent injuries to self and others. Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Essential Functions of the Job: Stand and walk up to twelve hours per day on concrete surfaces while loading and stacking cabinets in the factory. Physically carry and transport items long distances on varying terrains up to twelve hours per day at the job site. Must be able to lift, carry, and transport material in accordance with the requirements listed in the matrices below, repetitively for up to twelve hours a day. Frequently bend, stoop, reach grasps, twist, push, and pull items which range in accordance with the requirements listed in the matrices below. Frequently climb in and out of tractor and trailer while at the job site. Must be able to have corrected vision to: Assist with directions to job sites. Use bill of ladings and summaries to load and unload items. Be aware of surroundings and areas in which to stage/load components in the factory and in the field. Assist the driver and perform various other duties. Must be able to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and customers by phone or in-person. Must be mentally alert and capable of remembering oral instructions and routine tasks. (no sleeping while riding) Must be able to withstand fluctuations in temperature and environmental fluctuations. Must be able to transport items through mud, sleet, and rain. Must be able to work the required daily and weekly work hours as determined by the schedule. Good attendance and punctuality are necessary. Must exemplify through appearance and behavior the company’s image of excellence. Must possess excellent customer relation skills. Must be alert and able to identify and respond to a hazard by either reporting it immediately, or by taking corrective measures if directed. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
