About the Role
Doc’s Diesel is seeking hands-on Maintenance to keep our facilities, grounds, and equipment in top shape. This role ensures our workspace stays safe, functional, and efficient by managing preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and general upkeep projects. You’ll be the go-to person for maintaining the building, coordinating vehicle and equipment maintenance, and ensuring our property reflects the pride we take in our work. This position is perfect for someone with a strong mechanical mindset, attention to detail, and a “can do” attitude who takes ownership of their work and enjoys keeping things running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the property through mowing, trimming, weed control (including the Old warehouse), seasonal watering, snow removal, and general exterior upkeep.
- Complete warehouse and office improvement projects (painting, light remodeling, shelving installation, and general repairs).
- Perform or coordinate repairs on warehouse tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Run weekly preventive maintenance on the forklift fleet, watering and equalizing batteries, blowing out sit-down units, and inspecting the conveyor system and racking for damage or wear.
- Walk the fire suppression room and pallet storage area weekly, and conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to catch issues before they become problems.
- Helping to maintain a safe warehouse environment through proactive repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance.
- Handle monthly facility upkeep: change air conditioner filters, grease conveyor bearings, wash/detail the company truck, remove scrap metal, and inspect work trucks.
- Run the quarterly battery backup and emergency lighting test.
- Support warehouse operations by assisting with technical or mechanical fixes when needed.
- Schedule and track preventive maintenance for tow motors, box trucks, and company vehicles, and maintain accurate maintenance records for all vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Monitor maintenance supply levels, reorder parts and materials as necessary, and operate and maintain the cardboard compactor and other facility equipment safely.
- Own the cardboard compactor, the wood dumpster, and pallet organization.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of facility or equipment maintenance experience (automotive, warehouse, or
manufacturing preferred). - Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate common maintenance tools and equipment safely.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Understanding of diesel maintenance preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
