The Role


We are seeking an organized and analytical Production Scheduler to support American Lumber’s remanufacturing plants. This position develops, maintains, and communicates production plans that balance customer demand, plant capacity, staffing, and material availability across our remanufacturing operations.


The Production Scheduler serves as a critical link between Sales, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Operations, coordinating production schedules and information across our remanufacturing plants. This role helps ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time while supporting operational efficiency, revenue performance, and customer satisfaction.


This is a full-time, on-site role supporting our Corporate Bryan Office and plant locations. 


What You’ll Do


Order Management & Review

  • Manage incoming customer orders and move them through the scheduling process
  • Review orders for errors, missing information, and potential production issues before approval
  • Suspend orders when necessary and communicate concerns or required corrections to Sales
  • Confirm that raw materials are available and requested completion dates can be met
  • Move completed orders and reloads forward for credit review


Production Scheduling & Planning

  • Enter and schedule production orders in LumberPro
  • Develop production plans by manufacturing line and available resource
  • Coordinate with Plant Managers and Sales to align schedules with business priorities
  • Produce raw material pick lists for all scheduled orders
  • Calculate required staffing levels based on production schedules and planned workload
  • Adjust schedules as priorities, capacity, staffing, and material availability change


Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Maintain clear communication among Plants, Sales, Transportation, and other operational teams
  • Document scheduling decisions, order updates, and cross-functional communications
  • Provide accurate and timely information to support order fulfillment
  • Identify potential scheduling conflicts and work with appropriate teams to resolve them
  • Promote consistent information flow throughout the production process


Inventory & Operational Support

  • Assist with managing raw materials designated for production
  • Monitor finished goods remaining after production runs
  • Support inventory accuracy and material availability planning
  • Participate in month-end physical inventory counts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to scheduling, inventory, and production efficiency


Who You Are


Experience & Industry Knowledge

  • Three to five years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing coordination, supply chain management, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material flow, and capacity planning
  • Working knowledge of inventory control and material requirements planning
  • Familiarity with lumber or wood-products manufacturing is a plus


Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working across Sales, Production, Transportation, and Operations
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment under time constraints
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to anticipate scheduling challenges and respond effectively to changing priorities
  • Proficiency with production scheduling systems; experience with LumberPro or similar ERP/MRP software is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with data reporting tools is preferred
