Team Lead - Shipping

Brief Summary:

The Shipping Team Leader is a leadership role overseeing the day-day activities of the department. They report to the shift supervisor. They will perform a variety of tasks such as operating various equipment, filling in for vacancies, maintaining plant housekeeping, and performing routine maintenance on the plant and equipment.

Job Description:

· Supports Shift Supervisor in maintaining the day-to-day operations.

· Assist in training and evaluation of new employees and transfers.

· Ensures that Axis safety and quality procedures are adhered to.

· Provides relief and coverage in plant operations as needed.

· Assist with equipment and plant repairs, maintenance, and housekeeping

· Performs inspections of all operations of equipment. Reports any potential issues to supervisor.

· Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED, etc.)

· Six months related experience and/or training.

· Must be able to read and understand the Procedures and Work Instructions for the position held.

· Able to read, write, speak, and understand sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to

feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.

· The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. The employee is

occasionally required to sit.

· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
