Weld Mill Operator

Brief Summary:

The Weld Mill Operator performs changeovers, set up and splicing on the tube mill.

Responsibilities:

· Changeover and set up mills.

· Continuously monitor weld integrity, inside flash and overall quality of product being produced.

· Perform maintenance on mill as required.

· Communicate with the status or any issues along the mill line.

· Basic housekeeping in general work area.

· Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED (General Education Degree), etc.)

· One to three months equivalent experience in related field OR, Proof of training in an area related to the job assignment

· Must be able to read and understand the Procedures and Work Instructions for the position held.

· Reasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, go/no-go gauges, operation of thickness gauges.

· High frequency welding experience desired.

· Moderate PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel

· Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.

· The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
