Estimator Assistant
Efraimson Electric is hiring an Estimator Assistant to join our estimating team. You'll help us put together accurate, on-time bids for electrical projects — working alongside our senior estimators and project managers to learn the ropes and take on more responsibility over time.
No estimating experience? That's okay. We're looking for someone who's organized, good with numbers, and willing to learn. If you've got a background in construction or the electrical trade, that's a plus, but it's not required.
What you'll be doing
- Helping review drawings and specs so we can put together accurate bids
- Measuring quantities off plans and entering them into our estimating software
- Calling around for pricing on materials, labor, and subcontractors
- Keeping estimate files and paperwork organized
- Sitting in on project meetings to understand what a job actually needs
- Putting together permit lists, cost summaries, and bid packages
- Talking with vendors and suppliers when we need info or quotes
What we're looking for
- High school diploma
- 0–2 years of experience in estimating, construction, or something similar — we'll train the right person
- Good with details and comfortable working in Excel
- Organized and able to manage your own time
- Comfortable talking with people, whether it's a coworker or a vendor on the phone
- Willing to ask questions and learn from the team
Nice to have, but not required
- Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software
- Ability to read blueprints
- Electrical background
