Job DetailsJob Location: A.F. Wendling, Inc. - Buckhannon, WV 26201Salary Range: $16.00 Hourly POSITION SUMMARY:   We are seeking a motivated and dependable Maintenance Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to develop hands-on skills in facility and equipment maintenance. The Maintenance Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced maintenance staff to learn how to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and warehouse equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a fast-paced environment while building a career in maintenance.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   ·  Assist with preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and machinery ·  Support basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems under supervision ·  Help troubleshoot equipment issues and assist in completing repairs ·  Perform routine inspections of the facility and report maintenance needs ·  Assist with basic carpentry, painting, and general facility upkeep ·  Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools ·  Help track maintenance supplies and notify supervisor when inventory is low ·  Respond to maintenance requests and assist with resolving issues in a timely manner ·  Assist with lawn and grounds care including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep ·  Learn to properly document maintenance work and activities ·  Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times ·  Participate in on-the-job training and development opportunities Qualifications Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:   HS Diploma or equivalent, Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have very strong urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines. Requires the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.  Ability to complete tasks under standardized situations with occasional variables. Ability to work independently   Physical Requirements:   Physical ability to lift, carry, and position:  up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 80 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to constantly bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, climb, kneel, squat, twist and stand throughout shift. Must be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. occasionally Confident and comfortable operating equipment at heights up to 30 feet Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls. Working in multiple environments including office and ambient refrigeration and freezer areas   Work Environment:   Work hours may vary, or change based on department requirements. The job is primarily performed in a warehouse environment Regularly exposed to fast moving material handling and other mechanical equipment. Occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, high and precarious places, vehicle emissions, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and high voltage electrical equipment.
