Eagle Crusher is looking for Welders that will be graduating or anyone with years of experience in welding. Â
Cuts and joins metals in the manufacturing of heavy equipment, such as crusher components and conveyors. Is capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.
Duties and responsibilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements.Â
- Plan and perform the welding process that best fits the job you are assigned, including fabrications, weldments, machine parts, and tools of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Perform necessary laying out, cutting, bending, forming and assembly operations using fixtures and positioners in preparation for welding.
- Select proper welding rod and tips; select and set current and amperage, and gas pressure according to type of material and individual job requirements. Manipulate electrode or torch to lay a smooth, even bead, obtain proper penetration and fusion, avoid burning or distortion, especially the sections or dissimilar metals. Visually inspect work and clean welds on completion of operation.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure.Â
- Operate overhead crane and/or forklift as needed.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Â
- Performs any related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalentÂ
- Proven experience as welder and ability to pass a 3G weld test
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledgeable of different kinds of metal and their properties.
- Experience operating a forklift and/or overhead crane preferred.
- Ability to commit to flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shifts.Â
