Job Summary:

Centric Services (โ€œCentricโ€) delivers industry-leading high-speed internet through Centric Fiber and natural gas services through its UniGas division. Centric serves ground-up commercial and residential developments, as well as master-planned communities in all major metropolitan markets across Texas and Central Florida. The Technician โ€“ Fiber installations is the main interface for home builders and subscribers in residential communities. This role is responsible for performing fiber splicing, residential home installations, preparing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables and systems for Centric Fiber customers. The position is field-based, requiring daily reporting to the office and traveling into Centric communities.

Responsibilities:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Perform fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables and connections.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Point of contact for 3rd party contractors for troubleshooting.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Conduct residential home installations of internet, phone, TV, and cable services.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide customer assistance, education, and information on Centric services, customer equipment, and products.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Troubleshoot and resolve service issues on-site.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Upsell applications and additional equipment to customers when appropriate.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Take appropriate action to expedite workflow to consistently meet customer appointments and company commitments.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Interface with customer and technical service departments to collaborate on subscriber issues, develop troubleshooting and corrective action plans, work scheduling, and ticket clearing.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Install, service, disconnect, change, or reconnect telephone and modem equipment, serving customer residences.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Install, service, disconnect, change, or reconnect for television and provisioning in MAUI system.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide general maintenance and troubleshooting for FDHs.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist ISP tech with troubleshooting and maintenance of distribution cabinets.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  On call support for after-hours and weekend issues.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Support region with rollout of new equipment and software rollouts.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and in compliance with municipal, state, and federal laws and guidelines.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Participate in community and company social media outlets โ€“ monitor company commentary, respond to complaints and accolades, and monitor community happenings.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  High School Diploma or GED.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  2+ years of related telecommunications or mass media experience.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Previous customer service experience.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving record.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Must be able to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Up to 100% local market travel and up to 10% travel to all markets in Texas.

Preferred Requirements:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  College-level training in telecommunications or mass media.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Prior fiber splicing experience strongly preferred.
