Overview

As an Analytical Chemistry Technician Intern, you will work in Benjamin Moore Analytical Chemistry lab, prepare and characterize paint films. In addition, you will participate in projects that may include but are not limited to working with a senior scientist, you will be trained to analyze and characterize raw materials and finished paint products using analytical instruments such as FTIR, HPLC, GC, NMR, SEM and AFM.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of testing methods and learn how the testing results correlate to the paint formulation and performance.
  • Prepare samples and run analytical instruments.
  • Record, analyze and interpret data accurately.
  • Clearly communicating results/recommendations via written reports and/or presentations to supervisor.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and a clean work environment.
  • Follow and understand all safety and security regulations.
  • Manage work in accordance with set timeline goals.

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have minimum three years colleague education in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering.
  •  Applicants in graduate programs are a strong plus.
  • Knowledge or experiences with analytical instrumentation such as FTIR, HPLC, NMR and SEM are preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and especially Excel).
  • Strong math skills i.e. unit conversion/percentages.
  • Excellent communication skills in oral and writing
  • Familiarity with PPE and use of proper laboratory safety equipment.

Pay Range

USD $20.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.
