Summary:
Provide support for Perfumery and Formula Control teams by creatively and successfully creating winning and stable fragrances according to specific project requirements. Some primary requirements involve application, pricing, and regulatory.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Re-modify existing fragrances to meet updated regulatory, pricing, and stability related challenges.
- Understand client needs and educate sales account managers on the constraints and workings of specifics related to the brief.
- Comply with technical and regulatory aspects of perfumery.
- Change formulas as needed and create customer samples for briefs.
- Assist quality control in determining if odor/color qualities are stable and passing all required criteria before shipping out.
- Provide acceptable raw material substitutions to both the Production and Perfumery Teams.
- Assist in formula nationalization projects as needed – facilitating solvent and raw material changes to meet customer and affiliate needs.
- Understand and execute all necessary requirements for ISO 9001
- Remain accountable for all defined responsibilities as defined by ISO 9001 process flows
- Position Requirements
- Required:
- B.S. Degree in related field
- 3-5 years of technical perfumery experience
Preferred:
Comfort using Trifoil or Trifoil APEX- Previous apprenticeship with a senior perfumer
- Perfumery School Training
- Position Competencies
- Understand new materials and staying abreast of older materials available for use within the industry
- Knowledge of synthetic and natural raw materials
- Excellent sense of smell
- Highly specialized experience with existing fragrance houses, unique schools and ISIPCA
- Ability to visualize, analyze, and communicate project’s scope of work
- Ability to memorize olfactive notes and accords
- Highly organized, multi-tasked professional with the successful ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadline and stay within budgets
- Understand ingredients and their reaction with application bases
- Understand safety restrictions nationally and globally to work with their creations in technical environments
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of computers (Office/Trifoil) to document creations
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
