Position Summary

As a Formulary Management Senior Analyst, you will perform a critical role in the management of the CVS template formularies. Key functions include formulary file management, performing formulary reporting, formulary analysis tools, providing adjudication changes, and providing formulary related guidance. You will work closely with the clinical team in the development and maintenance of the template formularies for Commercial, Medicaid, Health Exchanges, and Fully Insured lines of business. This position will adhere to strict CMS deadlines and quality measures.

Responsibilities of the Formulary Management Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Building/maintaining formularies and drug lists in formulary management system
  • Creation of formulary submission files to the state or federal governing bodies
  • Providing expertise and training in formulary management system and prescription drug data
  • Advanced formulary analysis and reporting
  • Working with clinical and business professionals in a complex organization including but not limited to those the following areas: Clinical Sales, Clinical Formulary, Strategic Product Management, Analytic Consulting Services, Client Benefits, Clinical Client Operations (applies to all responsibilities)
  • Quality checking and testing of formularies and utilization management
  • Process automation; developing/maintaining automation tools



Required Qualifications

  • 2 years minimum of PBM experience
  • 1+ year formulary management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook) and Formulary Management tools
  • The ability to create complex ad hoc queries and compare files using Access
  • The ability to create and manipulate large data files ensuring data integrity
  • Analytical/Problem Solving skills
  • Organizational Skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and with people across functional areas
  • Ability to work in virtual team environment



Preferred Qualifications

  • Technically proficient in SQL, VBA, and Python
  • Deep knowledge of the Health Insurance Exchange formulary management and annual submission process
  • Ability to utilize reporting tools and interpret data
  • Experience with Caremark business systems, claims adjudication, formulary, drug, and client systems with an emphasis on the RxClaim adjudication platform

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
