CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Generation & Energy Management Team in Albany, NY; Buffalo, NY; Syracuse, NY; Rochester, NY; or St. Catharines, ON. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead innovative solutions, mentor technical teams, and help clients modernize their generation assets to improve energy resilience and achieve long‑term operational success.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for power generation, energy management, and industrial facility projects
  • Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across various areas of advanced technology
  • Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions
  • Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints
  • Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support
  • Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; persuasive and articulate in all settings
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$125,000 - $135,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
