Buffalo Biodiesel is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing accounting team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial records, timely month-end close, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with QuickBooks Online and NetSuite, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys improving processes and solving problems. This role will work closely with the Controller to strengthen the accounting function and support the continued growth of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Controller with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for Controller review
- Maintain the general ledger
- Perform daily and monthly bank, credit card, and financing reconciliations
- Assist with inventory, fixed asset, and lease accounting
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting, tax filings, and annual audits
- Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and properly documented
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and efficiencies
- Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and NetSuite(required)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Experience working in a multi-entity environment (preferred)
- Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls (preferred)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Pay: $75,000 - $85,000/year
