Summary

Learn from Senior CME Staff and perform material testing services on commercial construction sites. Day trips in the Buffalo, NY area. This co-op is for the summer & fall 2026 semesters, we expect this position to be full-time hours with occasional overtime. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Test construction materials such as soils and concrete for quality assurance on commercial sites
  • Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results
  • Complete each testing assignment accurately and in accordance with appropriate standards
  • Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner
  • Communicate regularly with direct supervisor to provide updates on project details
  • Complete continuing education and preparation for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and / or International Code Council (ICC)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related
  • Ability to obtain certifications through American Concrete Institute (ACI) and / or International Code Council (ICC) with full support from CME
  • Familiarity with construction materials, procedures, and documents a plus
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Compensation: $17.50 - 18.50 / hour
