Job DetailsJob Location: North Street - Buffalo, NY 14203Position Type: Full Time, 12 MonthSalary Range: $23.20 - $29.00 HourlyJob Summary:  The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for HR responsibilities including recruitment/staffing, new hire orientation, performance management, benefits administration and corporate compliance. In addition the HR Generalist is responsible for general staff communication, daily employee relation activities with staff and the updating and maintenance of employee records.    Essential Functions: Responsible for conducting new hire orientation and other necessary training. Present new hire orientation biweekly for all newly hired staff. Maintain the schedule and modules for new hire orientation, ensuring the appropriate managers are aware of new hire orientation. Responsible for proactively recruiting for positions at BHSC and the hiring process. Oversees all open positions on recruitment system on a daily basis.  Ensures that managers have the appropriate access to candidates for review.  Updates the status and takes notes on each candidate for ongoing history tracking.  Ensures that positions are posted externally where appropriate, i.e. external job boards, the newspaper, and social media sites.  Attends job fairs when appropriate.  Holds meetings as appropriate with hiring managers to establish future hiring needs. Makes salary quote and employment offer moving new hire through the onboarding process.  Administers the agency performance management system to ensure performance evaluations are completed in a timely fashion.  Maintains the electronic performance management system, ensuring appropriate reports are run on time and that managers have access to the correct employees for review. Edits and adds evaluations as needed.  Ensures that job descriptions and behavioral competencies are updated. Maintains all performance warnings and ensures they are uploaded into Paycom. Responsible for human resources corporate compliance.  Stays abreast of current labors laws and maintains knowledge of regulations related to the field. Attends updates, conferences and other meetings as appropriate and necessary. Completes necessary human resources reporting.  Monthly New York State “new hire” report and faxes to Albany. Monthly EPStaff check report to ensure employees are clear to work in a Medicaid/Medicare setting.  Monthly credential/licensure check on all professional staff. Ensures this information is updated in Paycom and kept in their employee file.  Monthly physical assessment reporting.  Ensures managers are aware of delinquent employees. Holds staff accountable for timely completion of assessment. Emails weekly employment updates to appropriate people. Enrolls eligible employees into benefit programs. Completes monthly benefits orientation.  Organizes yearly benefits fair and open enrollment process. Administers quarterly enrollment for agency 401k plan.  Participates as a member of the agency 401k investment committee when requested. Manage employee leaves of absence including FMLA, worker’s compensation, NYSPFL and disability.  Reconcile monthly benefit bills with employee deductions.  Approve monthly benefit invoices General human resources duties.  Shares information as appropriate with supervisor and team. Ensures staff has proper communication when changes are made to their employment or notifications are required. Maintains the employee files, including data entry, filing and other general clerical duties. Any duty as requested by your supervisor including strategic initiatives. Skills: Strong knowledge of word, excel and database administration Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of personnel using tact and diplomacy  Proven ability to use independent judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality  Excellent organizational skills    Education: Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree in human resources, business or related discipline Experience: Minimum Experience Required: 3-5 years of experience in human resources or related experience in customer service Required License/ Registration/ Certification: PHR/SPHR Certification preferred Physical Requirements: Physical actions may include, but are not limited to; bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.
