SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER (Permanent)
Our client, a global manufacturing organization in WNY, is looking to hire a Senior Product Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a newly created position due to growth.

Responsibilities:

Lead end‑to‑end new product development initiatives, from concept and modeling through prototyping, testing, and final production
Partner with manufacturing, quality, and cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, cost‑efficient, and ready for production
Create comprehensive technical specifications, including material selection, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and assembly requirements
Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Rhino) to develop 3D product models, technical drawings, and prototypes
Perform product testing, performance analysis, and validation to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and customer specifications
Drive design improvements focused on manufacturability, durability, cost optimization, long‑term performance, and environmental sustainability
Contribute to APQP and continuous improvement efforts, including PFMEA, control plans, and PPAP documentation when applicable
Review technical designs and mentor junior engineers
Stay up to date on emerging technologies, materials, and industry best practices in product and manufacturing engineering
Work well both independently and in a team environment
Work on several projects at a given time—anywhere from 1-5, depending on complexity
Other duties as assigned/as necessary

Details:

Position is full-time, direct hire, 1^st shift
100% in-office
$85,000 - $125,000 annually depending on experience

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
4+ years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficient computer skills: CAD, MSOffice (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with APQP tools: DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.
Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong organization skills and time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated
Relocation not available
