Overview

Calspan's Transonic Wind Tunnel is the only independently owned and operated wind tunnel in the United States. Our staff is known for its flexibility and responsiveness to our customers’ needs. Customers appreciate this approach, as it enables them in real time to refine test programs. We are looking for an experienced and versatile Technician to join our team! Due to the security requirements for this position, US Citizenship is required. Please note, this is a 2nd shift position.

Responsibilities

  • Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide support in the resolution of technical problems.
  • Perform set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering and checkout before, during and after the test.

  • Support the maintenance, installation and repair of test lab and equipment to maximize operational availability.

  • Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years in related discipline

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
  • Electrical and electronic principles
  • Perform operations and execute test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
  • Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
  • Testing and inspection principles and procedures
  • Microsoft Office
