Warehouse Supervisor

DiVal Safety Equipment, a leader in the industrial safety, Fire, and EMS distribution business, is looking for an associate with a “whatever it takes” attitude. The focus of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operations, delegate, empower, and become an advocate for your team, while maintaining a safe, credible, and positive working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Always focus on safety – safety training and direction must be adhered to.
  • Provide a safe working environment for all teammates via weekly safety training and enforcing policies for equipment while addressing unsafe conditions. Provide documentation and disciplinary action (if necessary) and continual training.
  • Ensure all Purchase Orders that arrive are received and put away within 24 hours.
  • ‘Facting’ maintenance of the warehouse completed daily.
    • (F.A.C.T.S. = face product, align product, clean/cut, tag, and sweep).
  • Maintain ongoing communication with direct manager, customers, vendors, and other DiVal teammates.
  • Regularly inspect the warehouse for cleanliness and potential safety hazards, including all vehicles and powered industrial trucks.
  • Conduct bi-weekly safety meetings with the team and engage their interest by choosing topics that resonate with them.
  • Attend and be prepared for all regularly scheduled meetings, including but not limited to weekly regional meetings, bi-weekly manager meetings, monthly satellite operations meetings, and monthly satellite safety meetings.
  • Assist with the investigation of any issues that question warehouse credibility addressing all concerns with the highest sense of urgency.
  • Regularly update all satellite shared files as necessary to ensure that metrics and other data are current for review by the regional manager.
  • Collaborate with your manager to develop continuous technological improvements working in conjunction with the I.T. department to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with manager and HR to address personnel needs by assisting in the recruiting, training, and development process.
  • Potential for travel opportunities to other satellites for support.
  • Willingly participate in further training, meetings, and certifications as required to meet the future requirements of this position.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties that may arise and assigned by your direct manager, including daily opening, and closing duties.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a NON D.O.T. physical with drug screen.
  • Strong communication/organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to assess personnel and processes with an eye towards continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lift, up to, 50 pounds. on a repetitive basis.
  • Experience driving a 26’ box truck (Preferred).
  • Problem-solving skills to handle customer complaints and production issues.
  • AS400 background. (Preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs including Outlook, Teams, and Word. (Preferred)
  • Experienced with handheld equipment, including RF scanners, palm devices, and tablets. (Preferred).
  • Experienced with warehouse equipment including forklifts, electric pallet trucks, elevated work platforms, and manual pallet jacks. (Preferred). 
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma / GED equivalent.
