This position serves as a liaison between administration and employees to ensure efficient HR processes that support a positive and professional school environment. The HR Coordinator works closely with school leadership to attract, retain, and support high-quality faculty and staff aligned with the mission of the school. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment & Hiring Coordinate job postings, applicant tracking, and interview scheduling. Assist administrators with recruitment efforts for instructional and non-instructional positions. Conduct reference checks and employment verification. Support hiring events, career fairs, and onboarding activities. Employee Onboarding & Records Prepare onboarding documents and employment packets for new hires. Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR databases. Ensure all certification, fingerprinting, and compliance documentation is current. Track employee contracts, evaluations, and required training records. HR Administration Assist employees with benefits enrollment, leave requests, and HR-related questions. Support payroll processing by maintaining attendance and employment records. Coordinate staff communications regarding HR policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of employee information and records. Compliance & Policy Support Ensure compliance with New York State labor laws, charter school regulations, and school policies. Support annual reporting requirements and audits. Assist with implementation of employee policies, handbooks, and procedures. Monitor certification and licensure requirements for instructional staff. Employee Relations & Support Help foster a positive and professional work environment. Assist with staff recognition activities and professional development coordination. Support conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives. Collaborate with school leadership on HR projects and organizational needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of HR, administrative, or school office experience preferred. Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and personnel procedures. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and HR information systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a school or charter school environment. Familiarity with New York State certification and employment requirements. Experience with recruitment, onboarding, or employee relations. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Working Conditions Office environment within a school setting.
