Our center is a NAEYC-accredited and Quality Stars NY accredited childcare program located on a university campus. We take pride in providing high-quality early childhood education while fostering a supportive, collaborative workplace for our staff.

Position Details

  • Position: Full-Time Lead Infant Teacher
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift: Must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM
  • No evenings or weekends

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a directly related field; or
  • A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; or
  • A formal written education plan leading toward the required qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree including 12 credits in Early Childhood Education, or a Bachelor's Degree plus 12 credits in Early Childhood Education; or
  • An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or directly related field) and four years of teaching experience in a child care center or other educational program serving young children.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for infants.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support each child's growth and learning.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom.
  • Observe, document, and communicate children's developmental progress.
  • Ensure compliance with New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations and center policies.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to provide the highest quality care and education.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with infants in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with young children.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, sit on the floor, and rise from the floor without adult assistance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
