The Department provides comprehensive victim services to individuals who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, family violence and/or elder abuse.   In this role, you will:   Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and follow-up support to survivors on campus and in the community Offer case management services that promote safety, independence, and connection to resources Respond to on-site crisis calls at campuses, police precincts, district attorney offices, and hospitals Support survivors through criminal justice and campus conduct processes, when desired Conduct outreach, education, and prevention trainings for students, staff, and community groups Collaborate with campus partners, community agencies, and internal teams Participate in scheduled on-call shifts, including hospital response advocacy Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards     What You Bring:    We’re seeking someone who brings both skill and heart to this work.   You’ll need: Bachelor’s degree (required) or Master’s degree (preferred) in human services, social work, public health, education, or a related field At least 6 months–1 year of relevant experience in sexual/domestic violence advocacy, crisis response, prevention, or related direct services Comfort with public speaking, training, and outreach Knowledge of sexual and domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed care, and survivor empowerment Familiarity with Title IX and NYS Enough Is Enough legislation (or willingness to learn) Strong judgment, empathy, discretion, and ability to work independently Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation Bonus if you have: Experience working in higher education settings Bilingual or multilingual skills     Who You Are:   You believe survivors deserve choice, dignity, and trauma-informed support at every step You’re comfortable providing calm, compassionate crisis intervention in emotionally charged situations You enjoy working on campus and in the community, not behind a desk all day You can balance empathy with strong professional boundaries You’re confident collaborating with law enforcement, campus partners, healthcare providers, and community agencies You’re comfortable speaking to groups and providing education or prevention trainings You’re organized and able to manage documentation, follow-ups, and multiple cases You can work independently but value being part of a mission-driven team You’re open to on-call responsibilities, including hospital response advocacy You want your work to have real, immediate impact on people’s lives   Job Type:    Part Time, 24 hours/week   Pay:    $22.04 - $25.81 per hour   Schedule:    Monday through Friday Some evening and/or weekend hours, as needed, and required on-call responsibilities.     Work Setting:   Onsite at Crisis Services, 100 River Rock Road, Suite 300, Buffalo, NY Co-location at local college campuses Hybrid Remote/Onsite Schedule may be available     Why Crisis Services:   Joining Crisis Services means becoming part of a deeply dedicated organization that shows up for our community 24/7.
