Who are we looking for?

Our US East Environmental business is looking for an Environmental Field Technician to join their field team in Atlanta (Buford), Georgia. As a technician, you will support a variety of remediation and O&M projects throughout the region.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of groundwater remediation systems, which may include:
    • Mechanical, and electrical, troubleshooting and maintenance
    • Equipment and chemical Inventory 
    • Jobsite housekeeping
    • Performing field sampling of different media in accordance with applicable standards (i.e. soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor, etc.)
    • Perform site inspections and system performance sampling
    • Collection of detailed field notes 
    • Coordination with contractors and service providers and oversight of contractor activities
    • Provide support and oversight of other field activities as needed
    • Coordination with project team, local stakeholders, and client
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Extract relevant data from information provided by others, and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
  • Operational Compliance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Solutions Analysis: Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Perform basic tasks in technical troubleshooting, such as identifying evident technical issues with equipment and experiments and assisting in basic diagnostic actions.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; College degree is a plus especially if in environmental related field (e.g., geology, wastewater operations, environmental science) 
  • At least 3 years of environmental field experience
  • Wastewater license in Georgia and/or South Carolina is a plus
  • Must possess good electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work and travel 100% of the time in Georgia, South Carolina, and Northern Alabama areas
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as required
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
  • Commitment to Health and Safety
  • OSHA 40hour HAZWOPER Certification is a plus
