Role Summary
As a Sr Radioisotope Technical Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the end-to-end development and commercialization of radioisotope products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions in radiochemistry, process design, and manufacturing scale-up, while mentoring technical staff and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead radioisotope development projects from concept through commercialization.
- Oversee target design, chemistry process development, DOEs, data analysis, and production setup.
- Drive process validation and ensure compliance with technical, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Prepare cost models and unit price estimations to support commercialization decisions.
- Mentor and develop technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability and scientific excellence.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify production equipment and analytical instrumentation.
- Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Chemistry, Physics, Quality, Sales, Program Management, and Site Leadership.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Have:
- Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- 5–7+ years of experience in radioisotope development or related technical leadership.
- Demonstrated expertise in DOE, data analysis, and process validation.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing technical teams.
- Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of radiochemistry equipment (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, FT-IR, particle analyzers, microwave chemistry systems).
- Experience in ion exchange chromatography, separation chemistry, chelation, drug conjugation, radiolabeling, electrochemistry.
- Familiarity with FDA submissions (DMF, 510(k)), radiation detection methods, cyclotron/particle accelerators, and dosimetry.
- Understanding of GMP, regulatory compliance, and commercialization requirements.
