Drill Operator

Herson Global delivers tailored mining, exploration, earthworks and extraction services across Sonora. As Drill Operator you will put high-precision holes in the ground that unlock ore bodies, de-risk projects and keep our crews moving. Your work directly determines whether a campaign stays on schedule and on budget.

Performance Objectives

  • Complete 95% of assigned drill meters each shift while holding hole deviation within 1.5% of plan.
  • Achieve zero lost-time incidents and 100% compliance with daily pre-start, lock-out and ground-control checks.
  • Reduce non-productive time (rig moves, bit changes, water issues) by 15% versus last campaign average within the first 90 days.
  • Deliver core or cuttings samples that meet geologist specifications on first pass, eliminating re-drills.
  • Maintain equipment availability above 92% through disciplined daily inspections and timely parts requests.
  • Train one junior operator to independent shift standard within six months.

Environment & Resources

You report to the Site Superintendent and work inside a 6–8 person drill crew on rotating 12-hour shifts. Fleet includes modern diamond and RC rigs with on-site mechanics, water trucks and a dedicated HSE officer. Fuel, bits and consumables are staged at the pad; you have radio and satellite comms plus a modest discretionary budget for urgent field repairs.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years operating diamond or reverse-circulation rigs in hard-rock mining or exploration.
  • Proven record of meeting meterage targets while keeping deviation and sample quality inside specification.
  • Valid licenses and current first-aid / confined-space certifications required in Mexico.
  • Ability to read drill plans, survey data and lithology logs in Spanish and English.
  • Physical fitness for 12-hour outdoor shifts in Sonoran desert conditions.

Role Selling Points

  • Direct impact: your holes decide the next pit design or resource estimate.
  • Modern fleet and mechanic support—no “make-do” equipment.
  • Clear path to Drill Supervisor as we scale new contracts.
  • Competitive Sonora package plus camp or local housing stipend.

If you take pride in a straight hole and a safe pad, apply now. Send your experience and availability to sales@hersonglobal.com with the subject “Drill Operator – [Your Name]”.
