Seeking a full-time Maintenance Engineer Lead to support our Building Operations department at Western AZ Regional Medical Center, located at 2735 Silver Creek Rd, Bullhead City, AZ.

 

Day Shift: Monday - Friday, hours TBD.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer Lead oversees the daily operations of the facility maintenance team, coordinating repairs, preventative maintenance, and vendor activities to ensure building systems and equipment function efficiently and in compliance with applicable codes. This role provides technical expertise, scheduling, and mentorship to maintenance staff while actively participating in hands-on maintenance activities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Essential Functions

  • Leads and mentors the maintenance team; assigns daily tasks and provides technical guidance to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Schedules and coordinates internal and external maintenance work, including vendor support, equipment servicing, and emergency repairs.
  • Performs skilled maintenance work in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and utility systems.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains a preventive maintenance program to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Participates in on-call rotation and helps cover staffing gaps due to PTO, call-offs, or emergencies.
  • Reads and interprets technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturer literature to troubleshoot and repair systems.
  • Maintains workspaces, tools, and supply inventory in an organized and functional state.
  • Conducts regular inspections of building infrastructure and equipment to identify needed repairs or safety hazards.
  • Operates and monitors computerized building management systems and recordkeeping software for facility maintenance and controls.
  • Collaborates with contractors and other trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, construction) to complete complex repairs or installations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of applicable experience in facilities or plant operations required
  • Experience providing daily direction or training to a maintenance team preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively guide team members and collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency with computer-based maintenance systems and building automation controls.
  • Ability to function effectively under pressure and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Willingness to attend continuing education and certification programs related to the field.

Licenses and Certifications

  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State required
  • Hold or obtain one of the following certifications within 90 days of employment:
    • EPA 608 HVAC Certification
    • NAPE Plant Operator Certification
    • High-Pressure Boiler Operator Certification
    • Certified HVAC Technician
