Machine Shop Operator

Position Summary

Set up and be able to operate all machines within the machine shop

Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Set up and operate lathes and mills

• Set up and operate economy pointer

• Set up and operate slotters

• Set up and operate air chamber

• Set up and operate fillet roll

• Set up and operate traubs

• Set up and operate dye machine

• Set up and operate drill press

• Set up and operate auto pin machine

• Set up and operate button die and c-sink

• Set up and operate cut off saw

• Set up and operate chop off press

• Be familiar with and able to use dial calipers, mic and SPC computer

Qualifications-Education/Experience

Required:

• Qualifications-To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position

• Education and/or Experience-High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience

• Language Skills-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability tow rite routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

• Mathematical Skills-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Be able to read and interpret blue prints.

• Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
