Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for assisting our Clinical Pharmacist with daily roles by providing personalized care that improves patient outcomes, reduces complications, hospital admissions and ER visits. The Pharmacy technician will specialize in chronic disease states and will be responsible for continued patient management. Support and assist in the coordination of pharmacy services activities including claims utilization analysis, prescription plan design, correspondence and special projects.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Assist the pharmacist in the areas of clerical activities while under the Pharmacist’s supervision
  • Assist pharmacist and physicians in health care insurance for non-covered medications
  • Conducts medication reconciliation
  • Scheduling, follow-up and coordinating with patient’s plan of care
  • Answering telephone calls, obtaining and/or verifying patient information/ medication and health histories
  • Responding to requests from patients and healthcare providers, answering their questions and referring various inquiries.
  • Complexity of task/project will vary and requires individuals with a strong aptitude
  • Documentation and organizational skills
  • Contributes to team success
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance of Federal HIPPA Regulations
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • Employee has completed all required annual Compliance training and signed attestation form is attached for each module.

 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between  $23-25 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.

 

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician
  • Knowledge of or experience with medical terminology is desirable
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting and minimum of one year in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to work independently, yet work cohesively within a team to achieve results
  • Skills or knowledge of managed care principles
  • Skills or experience in health care financial and payer issues
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to balance a high volume of work, variety of tasks and prioritize urgent issues
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • High level of professionalism
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong problem solving skills
