About The Position

 We are seeking a skilled Optometrist for a locum tenens position at a healthcare facility in Vermont. This 60-day assignment offers weekday coverage, starting 06/02/2025. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with general optometry, including eye exams, post-operative care, and managing medical optometry cases, with a focus on glaucoma and diabetic patients. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive eye examinations, providing post-operative care, and managing a variety of medical optometry cases. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations

• Provide post-operative care for surgical patients

• Manage medical optometry cases, including glaucoma and diabetic eye care

• Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases

• Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as needed

• Educate patients on eye health and preventive care

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers for patient care

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using Eyemed EMR system

• Ensure high-quality patient care and follow all protocols and safety standards

• Adapt to existing workflows and practices in the facility

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice optometry in Vermont

• Experience in medical optometry required

• Comfort with managing a diverse range of eye care cases
