Optimizing access to outpatient care can improve clinical outcomes, create resourceful workflows, and improve patient satisfaction overall. The Healthcare Navigation Intern (HNI) will serve as a crucial point of contact for patient鈥檚 seeking care in the urology outpatient clinic. In this role, the individual will work in close collaboration with the staff in the Division of Urology at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center to facilitate outpatient office visits. Specifically, this individual will collaborate with schedulers to oversee proper patient booking with providers who can best address their clinical needs, prepare for the visit by ensuring all relevant records are updated and available at the time of visit, provide patients with pre-visit education, and interact with patients during the office visit. There may be independent opportunities to observe surgical cases, interact with residents and physicians, or help conduct scientific research if the candidate is interested. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy clinical medicine practice for those interested in pursuing a healthcare career.Job Description:

o聽聽聽 Prepare patient visits for providers聽by ensuring record preparedness
o聽聽聽 Administer pre-visit surveys via patient portal for specific conditions and research studies聽

o聽聽聽 Obtain聽patient聽history聽after rooming
o聽聽聽 Scribe patient interactions in electronic medical record聽

Minimum Qualifications Prior to Start:聽You must be a graduate from US undergraduate school by June 2026. Minimum of聽Bachelor鈥檚 degree聽or related聽health-sciences聽degree. College students who will be graduating by spring 2026 and seeking a medically-related gap year experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience:
- Undergraduate coursework in biology, physiology, anatomy, or聽other聽health-related field聽preferred
- Ideal candidate will聽have聽pre-medical聽education聽background聽and have strong interest in pursuing, or currently applying to, professional school for a healthcare career (medical school, physician鈥檚 assistant聽(PA) school, etc)
- Urology-specific education and necessary clinical training will be provided

Pay Range:
$20.00 - $20.00The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
