Description

The Bancroft Chophouse is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Garde Manger Cook to join our upscale steakhouse. This position plays a key role in creating exceptional first impressions by preparing beautifully presented cold appetizers, salads, seafood displays, and desserts that complement our premium dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present cold appetizers, composed salads, seafood cocktails, charcuterie boards, and other garde manger items according to The Bancroft's standards.
  • Ensure every dish is consistently plated with exceptional attention to detail and presentation.
  • Maintain freshness, quality, and proper storage of all ingredients.
  • Prepare mise en place for daily service and maintain an organized workstation.
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure timely execution during service.
  • Follow standardized recipes, portion control, and plating specifications.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to the Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area while following all food safety and health regulations.
  • Assist with special event preparation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of cold food preparation techniques.
  • Excellent eye for detail, presentation, and consistency.
  • Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining the highest culinary standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
  • A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts is a plus!
