Job DetailsJob Location: White Oak Manor Burlington - Burlington, NC 27217Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: 12 hour shift-DaysJob Category: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)DEPARTMENT: Nursing Services SUPERVISOR: Director of Nursing WORK AREA: Entire Facility PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to perform restorative nursing services for residents with impaired ability to perform at an independent level. WORKING HOURS: 75 to 80 hours every two weeks. Work hours are subject to change by supervisor as deemed necessary. Any overtime hours are to be approved by supervisor. THIS PERSON REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing or designee ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must maintain current Nursing Assistant Certification and take resident assignments when needed to ensure resident needs are met. HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY: Responsible to adhere to HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY guidelines and safeguard protected health information. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a grammar school education is essential and a high school education or equivalent is preferred. Must be a certified nursing assistant. Good physical and mental health. Successful completion of a 90-day evaluation period. Aptitude toward learning materials needed to perform restorative nursing program. REQUIRED DUTIES: Is Responsible for residents while assisting them to and from the physical therapy department, for residents personal care and environment through treatment reporting any change in condition or unusual findings and for the cleanliness of the work area and equipment. Carries out restorative nursing care programs, positioning and passive joint range of motion, and assists residents with exercise, ambulation and activities of daily living; follows established procedures and observes safety precautions in the application and use of heat, cold, light, water and equipment used. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Works closely with the Restorative Program Coordinator/ Restorative Nurse and entire nursing care team. 2. The Restorative Aide is responsible for the resident while assisting them to and from the physical therapy department, dining room or other areas of the facility. He/she is responsible for the cleanliness of the working area and equipment. He/she also must document programs performed daily in the (EMR) electronic medical record. 3. Carries out restorative nursing care programs or portions thereof as planned and directed by the Restorative Program Coordinator/Restorative Nurse. 4. Accepts responsibility for the residents personal care and environment throughout treatment and reports any change in condition or unusual findings to charge nurse and/or Program Coordinator/ Restorative Nurse. 5. Follows established procedures and observes safety precautions in the application and use of heat, light and water. 6. Carries out positioning and passive joint range of motion and encourages and assists residents in active ROM exercise, ambulation, activities of daily living, and application and removal of splints, braces or artificial limbs. 7. Carries out treatment utilizing any equipment for which he/she has received adequate instruction. Demonstrates understanding and competency in this area (i.e., walkers, canes). 8. Cares for braces, splints, artificial limbs and other assistive devices as assigned by Restorative Program Coordinator/ Restorative Nurse. 9. Reports the residents condition, reactions, and responses to the Program Coordinator/ Restorative Nurse. 10. May act as an assistant to the Licensed Therapist or Assistant during evaluations, complex treatment procedures, and while performing tests (as directed by Program Coordinator/ Restorative Nurse). 11. Participates as a member of the health care team when appropriate. 12. Complies with procedures for maintenance of supplies and equipment and carries out duties necessary to comply with related needs as delegated to him/her. 13. Participates in appropriate conferences (such as plan of care) and in-service training programs for the purpose of continuing education. 14. May assist on nursing units as needed when not performing restorative care duties. 15. Demonstrates competency using current clinical software system.   #LP3 Qualifications
