Seasonal Lifeguard

Job Title: Summer Lifeguard – Middle School Parks Program 

Schedule: Tuesdays, July 7 to August 11

 Position Overview:
We are seeking a certified Lifeguard to accompany our Middle School Parks Program on weekly Tuesday field trips throughout the summer. The lifeguard will be responsible for supervising aquatic activities during trips to beaches or other waterfront locations, ensuring the safety of all participants and responding quickly to any emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide active lifeguard supervision during all water-based activities on Tuesday field trips
• Monitor swimmers and enforce safety rules and procedures
• Respond to emergencies and administer first aid or CPR as needed
• Conduct quick safety briefings for participants before water activities
• Communicate with program Director and staff regarding daily procedure and safety

Qualifications:

• Current Lifeguard Certification required (American Red Cross or equivalent) 
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
• Experience supervising youth, preferably middle school-aged participants
• Strong communication and decision-making skills
• Ability to remain alert and respond quickly in emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in youth programs, camps, or recreation programs
• Waterfront lifeguarding experience
