Trident Consulting is seeking a "Senior Electrical Engineer” for one of our client in " Burlington, MA ". A global leader in business and technology services.

Position Summary

Client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop complex electro-opto-mechanical systems for its next-generation corneal cross-linking medical device. The role involves end-to-end electrical hardware development, including circuit design, PCB development, system integration, verification, and lifecycle support within a regulated medical device environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic circuits.
  • Perform schematic capture and multi-layer PCB design/layout using Altium Designer.
  • Conduct PCB bring-up, testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
  • Perform circuit simulations (DC, AC, transient, Monte Carlo, noise, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI).
  • Conduct worst-case, tolerance, reliability, thermal, and power distribution analyses.
  • Select and integrate electrical components such as displays, power supplies, motors, sensors, and single-board computers.
  • Develop electrical wiring diagrams and system-level documentation.
  • Maintain PCB CAD tools, Altium libraries, templates, design rules, and configuration management.
  • Support prototype builds, hardware validation, and hardware–firmware integration.
  • Define and execute electrical verification and validation protocols.
  • Generate design documentation in compliance with FDA Design Controls and Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Support sustaining engineering activities, including ECOs, component obsolescence, CAPA, manufacturing, and supplier support.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance activities for IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.

  • Thermal Simulation
  • Motor Control
  • Sensors
  • Communication Interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Wi-Fi, BLE)
  • Experience with FDA Design Controls, ISO 13485/QMS, and medical device development.
  • Knowledge of IEC 60601 electrical safety and EMC standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
