Job Purpose
This position contributes to the overall mission and goals of HAI by ensuring careful financial management of the organization, ensuring compliance to financial regulations and providing clear visibiliy (and analysis) of the financial position of the company.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for activities of the General Ledger for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and assistance with budget forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data, produce financial reports or statements and perform financial profitability analysis.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles under Honda Regional Policies/Standards, IFRS and GAAP.
- Process and oversee all AR transactions for company and JV.
- Oversee the fixed asset accounting, including, but not limited to, duties associated with the monthly financial close, reconciliations, maintaining a strong internal control environment, asset management, and capital reporting.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and oversee balance sheet reconciliation schedules.
- Utilize Honda’s tax group to assure corporate income tax compliance including the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
- Responds to inquiries from the Senior Manager of Support and companywide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
- Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter.
- Work with Honda North America on insurance policies.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits and reviews.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting. Prefer Master’s degree in Accounting is a plus.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 5 or more years of accounting experience.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Strong ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
- Strong technical knowledge in account principals, practices and procedures.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment helpful.
- Experience in Aerospace useful (production and aftermarket).
- Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, State and local financial regulations.
- Knowledgeable and innovative in identifying opportunities for business improvements.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and ERP systems.

Working Conditions
- Climate-controlled office environment.
- The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection and safety shoes.
- Ability to travel (domestic) 1-2 times per year average.
