Lean/Continuous Improvement Engineer

Manpower Engineering and we are seeking a Lean/Continuous Improvement Engineer for our client in the Burns, TN area. Direct hire position, reporting to Plant Manager. Relo package available. Summary This person will be key in leading the transformation journey of continuous improvement. Company wants to evolve their problem-solving skills, their 5s initiatives, the Value Stream Map exercises, the Kaizen and TPM events. We're looking for a person that can be self-driven, hands-on, with excellent verbal and communication skills as they must convince and persuade "non-believers" in lean. Here's who we are seeking: * BS degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering. Would like to see at least a couple years' experience, will look at new grads, preferably with some relevant co-op experience. * Looking for an energetic engineer who is excited to learn and implement lean strategies and willing to get out on the floor and be very hands-on. * Should come with a good lean tool kit. Understanding of as many of the following would be helpful: Continuous Improvement, 5S, Operational Excellence, Lean principals, statistics and data analysis * Preferably some training/courses in TPS, Six Sigma, Lean Certification, Shingo Institute, etc.) * Should come with ideas on how to maintain/sustain lean/5S implementation * Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams * Someone driven to do their own problem-solving * Ability to learn and understand materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products * Excellent communication skills. Ability to work well with other departments and managers.
