What you will do:

  • Assist driller in geotechnical drilling operations including auger handling, soil sampling, rock coring, and borehole backfilling. 
  • Prepare and mobilize equipment for daily projects, ensuring all tools and materials are loaded and secured. 
  • Maintain accurate field logs and handle soil samples in accordance with project requirements. 
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of drill rigs, support vehicles, and related equipment. 
  • Ensure safe work practices by adhering to National Drilling Association safety guidelines and company standards. 
  • Support site setup and breakdown including transporting augers, sampling equipment, and securing rigs at the end of each day. 
  • Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense reports, and required project documentation. 
  • Travel to project sites with occasional overnight stays; overtime and weekend work may be required. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include office, laboratory, or field support work during slower periods. 
  • Moves materials weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. 
  • Traverses job sites having uneven terrain, slopes, confined spaces, or reinforced trenches. 
  • Positions self to access tools and materials in various locations.  
  • Operates tools requiring fine motor skills. 
  • Ascends/descends into job site areas to complete inspections and data collection. 
  • Conducts visual assessments of task quality and job site safety. 
  • Remains in a stationary position for extended periods. 

What you will bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  
  • Prior drilling or heavy equipment experience preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided. 
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform light to moderate equipment maintenance. 
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required. 
  • CDL Class A or B license preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to obtain a DOT Medical/Health Card within 30 days of employment. 
  • OSHA 40-hour Hazmat, CPR, or First Aid certifications preferred (training available if not already certified). 
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc).     
  • Primarily field-based role must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.  
  • Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.  
  • The role generally involves 45–55 hours per week, with the possibility of evening or weekend assignments as project needs arise. 
  • Regular travel to project sites is expected, including periodic overnight stays depending on project location and duration. 
  • Reliable transportation required and the ability to travel daily within assigned territory.  
  • Operates tools requiring fine motor skills. 
  • Moves materials weighing up to 75 pounds periodically. 
  • Traverses construction sites having uneven terrain, slopes, confined spaces, or reinforced trenches. 
  • Conducts visual assessments of task quality and job site safety.
  • Positions self to access tools and materials in various locations. 
  • Ascends/descends into job site areas to complete inspections and data collection. 
  • May remain in stationary position for extended periods.:  
  • Primarily field-based role must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.  
  • Full‑time position with standard business hours; occasional night work or overtime may be required based on project deadlines. 
  • Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.  
  • Reliable transportation required and the ability to travel daily within assigned territory.  
  • Travel may be required.
