The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to work at our Specification Stone Products location in Burton, MI. The Heavy Equipment Operators perform all functions as it pertains to operating heavy off-road mobile equipment for the purpose of loading trucks, rail trucks, rail cars, feeding plant and stockpiling materials.

Pay: $26/hr+

Shift/Schedule: Day Shift, M-F with occasional Saturdays

Responsibilities

The Equipment Operator will:

Operate various heavy mobile equipment such as Cat 980 Front End Loaders and Skid Steers
Load trucks and stockpile material
Unload rail cars and stockpile in correct material piles
Load trucks with the correct materials without contamination while complying with the legal weight limit for the trucks
Service plant as needed (i.e. minor adjustments, lubrication, cutting, welding)
Shoveling aggregate under conveyors and around plant
Perform light maintenance on equipment and plant
Keep the work area clean and tidy
Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
Maintain work area to allow safe movement and access
Meet customer service expectations
Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
Basic Mechanical aptitude
Knowledge and ability to operate heavy equipment
Knowledge of truck hauling capacities as well as loading and unloading procedures
Knowledge of equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, crusher, hot plant, and trucks)
Knowledge of materials and specification requirements
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment
Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings
Valid driver's license

Heavy Equipment Operator, AGG
