Job DetailsJob Location: Hope and Recovery - Leesburg, FL 34748Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $15.40Job Shift: DayJob Purpose: - The Peer Specialist II at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing support and advocacy to individuals with mental health and substance use challenges. Utilizing lived experience and specialized training, the Peer Specialist II fosters a recovery-oriented environment and empowers clients to achieve their personal goals. Key Responsibilities: - Provide peer support and mentorship to clients, sharing personal experiences to inspire hope and recovery. - Assist clients in developing personal recovery plans, setting achievable goals, and identifying strengths and resources. - Facilitate group sessions and workshops focused on recovery and wellness topics. - Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure coordinated care and support for clients. - Advocate for client needs and rights within the organization and the community. - Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies. - Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in peer support. - Promote a stigma-free environment by educating staff and the community about mental health and recovery. - Serve as a liaison between clients and other service providers to ensure comprehensive support. - Uphold the values and mission of LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER in all interactions and activities. QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Certification as a Peer Specialist preferred. Required Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a behavioral health setting. - Demonstrated experience in peer support and advocacy. - Experience in facilitating group sessions or workshops. Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. - Proficient in documentation and record-keeping. - Understanding of mental health recovery principles and practices. - Ability to engage and motivate individuals in their recovery journey. - Skilled in conflict resolution and problem-solving.
