Sonic Summary

The internship position is focused on general accounting responsibilities under the supervision of an accountant at the Byron, GA facility.
Interns will review expense reports, travel vouchers, and corporate credit card transactions while ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate expense coding.
The role requires candidates to be actively enrolled in a Business Administration program, preferably accounting majors, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall or 3.5 in their program.
No prior experience is necessary, and candidates should possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.
Interns will work 15-25 hours weekly during the Spring and Fall semesters, and 40 hours weekly during the Summer, with a competitive salary.

Interns will be supervised directly by the accountant (staff manager)
This role is general accounting focused with meaningful responsibility
Review expense reports, travel vouchers, and corporate credit card transactions
Ensure proper regulatory compliance and accurate expense coding
Support their supervisor with broader accounting tasks as needed such as month end close activities, reconciliations, and system administration
Work on-site in our Byron, GA facility with 15-25 hours weekly during Spring/Fall semesters and 30-40 hours weekly during the Summer
Stretch assignments may include CAPEX tracking, reconciling monthly prepaid activities, preparing process narratives, completing monthly debt/lease amortization entries, sub-contract invoice review and other general accounting duties as needed
Other duties as assigned

Education/Training (both required and desired):

Must be actively enrolled in a post-high school education program in a Business Administration field of study (preference towards accounting majors)
Looking for Junior/Senior students with 3.0+ Overall GPAs or 3.5+ Program GPAs

Soft-skill expectations include being detail-oriented, analytical, and having a healthy amount of professional skepticism. Strong problem-solvers and effective communicators are a plus
